OK, we are not in Florida. We are in Northern California. It’s October 14th and when the leaves should be turning, the air should be a bit crisper and there should be a light at the end of the scorching heat tunnel, there is little hope. With temps still in the 90’s it’s hard to be motivated to decorate the house for Fall or Halloween. I looked at several sights to see how folks in the hot southern states decorate for the season with little inspiration, so here are MY top 3 ideas:
- Rake up your drought-dead lawn into a large pile. Spray it with left over water from the kids bath last night, and mold it into a scarecrow.
No need to turn the oven on…set your pumpkin outside and come home to that yummy pumpkin pie smell.
Embrace the cobwebs you missed while dusting all summer by placing a fake spider in them.
What are your ideas for feeling “Fall” in the heat?
